I finally got around to watching John Wick 4 tonight, and I really enjoyed it. It was over the top fun, but I might have enjoyed it the most since the 1st (though I still enjoyed 2 and 3). Overall, I think it's a solid, consistent series, and I'm down for spin offs.
I'd definitely love to see Caine and Akira again, and I think, depending on how that post credit scene plays out, you could do a compelling story with the two of them, and revenge, and family.
I didn't even know there was a spinoff show called The Continental.
The overall premise of the John Wick world definitely lends itself to spin off stories, and there have been some fun, interesting characters introduced over the four films. I'm also looking forward to the Anna D'Armas movie as well.
But yeah, JW4 was so ridiculous, dude was a straight up superhero in terms of how much damage he takes and still keeps trucking. lol. it was hilarious, but also, reminded me a lot of the action heroes from my childhood in the 80's and 90's, just ratcheted it up to what you'd expect from modern movies and video games. Does it rob you of a bit of tension? Yeah, but, like, the movie is called John Wick. They aren't going to realistically kill him halfway through the movie. lol

Yeah, thats a bad thing.
Taking a simple concept movie that becomes a surprise hit and rapidly expanding it almost always turns out bad.
Hopefully they stop before they get to "JW9: The John Wick Saga" and "John X."

I'd watch a movie titled WICK IN SPACE where John Wick fights a cyborg (played by Jason Statham) who stole his wife's soul using an alien soul-catcher device engineered by a mad scientist (played by Mark Strong).

Imagine having a franchise you kickstarted and hold dead to your heart and then some executive is telling you "btw, we're making a TV show without your input and we cast Mel Gibson in a lead role"
Can't feel great

John Wick is my favorite film series, I loved 4 as a finale.
I'll keep an open mind, but would have liked 4 to remain the finale.

John Five would be the best entry so i hope we do get that far at least. have him rob a bank and steal the whole vault and drag it himself all the way.

The only thing I want from John Wick going forward is either the destruction of the High Table or for Wick's allies take all of the seats. All of the bureaucracy and weird rules and bullshit they pulled out of their asses in each new movie got pretty tiring and made the super secret mysterious world just boring and frustrating. Hopefully that's maybe what this is.

Keanu and Ian McShane in an interview mentioned nobody even contacted them, I consider that show not part of the films or the world they made.

Hah I didn't expect it to actually be addressed. I'll watch it someday, though I didn't even know it was basically disowned by Stahelski

I think the series has been getting worse as the action sequences have become more bloated and they've been trying to expand on lore that frankly is silly at best and boring/stupid at worst. If there's more of a focus on fun/exciting action and less on trying to painstakingly explain lore things that frankly do not need to be fully explained this might be interesting though.

I'm not a fan of the franchise so I don't really care. But I am kind of intrigued by a "John X" movie. A crossover with Saw's John Kramer could be fun.
